Environmentally Speaking is intended to alert, inform and educate residents of Collier and Lee counties regarding educational events and threats that challenge our unique and delicate Southwest Florida ecosystem.

Keynote speaker Thomas Linzey, cofounder and executive director of the Community Environmental Defense Fund. Youth climate-change lawsuit update: Eight Florida teenagers and children are suing the state of Florida for protection against climate change, saying they have a fundamental right to grow up in a healthy atmosphere. On January 17, the Ninth Circuit reversed the district court’s findings in Juliana v.
