Hannah Rose Kandel, a Naples resident and student at the Eden School, in Naples, was recently selected as one of eight worldwide artists with autism by the United Nations for their 2012 Autism Awareness Stamps. Her painting, Crazy Love, is part of the special stamp series that was issued by the U.N. Postal Administration on April 2, in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness Month.

On the same day, the Kandel family joined members of the Autism Speaks national advocacy organization at the ringing of the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange, in New York City.

“I dream that I will become a preschool teacher, teach little kids and become a Hollywood actress,” says Kandel, 20. “I believe that I will live independently, get married and have children someday. As my family says, ‘Dream it, believe it and achieve it!’”
