A Career in Skincare Aligned with Passion and PurposeJun 30, 2021 09:12AM ● By Linda Sechrist
Naples resident Jessica Kresevich, a licensed esthetician providing skincare services at Beautiful Health, in Naples, has been fascinated by the science of skincare since she was a teenager. The graduate of Bradenton Beauty and Barber Academy, in Bradenton, realized she’d found a career to channel her passion for skincare and combine it with her purpose of being able to help individuals look and feel better about themselves by providing an “inside-out skincare education”.
People with busy lives often have insufficient time to acquaint themselves with the scientific facts about skin. “They take their skin for granted because it’s simply there, covering the entire body everywhere they look. However, they might be intrigued when they hear me say that every minute of the day they are losing 30,000 to 40,000 dead skin cells off their skin’s surface, and that for healthy, glowing and luminous skin, it’s not important to just use quality natural skincare products, but also to be aware of what they eat and the condition of their gut. For example, the condition of rosacea, characterized by redness or pimple-like bumps on the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin, or both, can worsen with time without appropriate treatment and lifestyle changes. Along with the consumption of hot drinks, alcohol, processed and spicy foods, flareups can occur because of sun exposure, emotional stress and hot weather. These are the kinds of facts that I learn as I do research, take continuing education classes and learn from skincare professionals that educate estheticians on the ingredients in new products, which are always evolving,” advises Kresevich.
Studying, researching, learning and evolving are the action words in Kresevich’s career and she relishes each of them. “It’s what keeps me passionate about skincare. I was so enthusiastic about finding a career which involved a subject that would provide me a lifetime of education in the science of skin and the products used to keep it healthy,” she says.
Another aspect of her career that Kresevich finds so appealing is the atmosphere that she gets to work in every day. A spa is a calm, relaxing, esthetically pleasing place to spend time, whether it’s for work or pleasure. "Here at Beautiful Health, I so appreciate the comments from people that come to shop for our pure and natural skincare products or to get a facial or massage. The most frequent comment I hear is, ‘What a nice vibe. I could feel it when I walked in the door.' It confirms just what I felt when I walked in to apply for the job,” notes Kresevich.
