Kudos: Local Rotary Clubs join forces with Habitat for Humanity to Build New Park

Members of the Rotary Club of Fort Myers South partnered with the Fort Myers, Sanibel-Captiva and Fort Myers Sunrise rotary clubs and Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties to build a new community park at Majorca Palms in the Tice area of Fort Myers on July 20. The new playground equipment will benefit approximately 175 children and 150 families in the neighborhood. Funding for the park came from Keurig, Dr. Pepper and the nonprofit organization KaBOOM! along with grant matching funds from Rotary District 6960.

“Being able to play outside contributes to both the physical and mental health of the children, not to mention enhancing the social aspects of the neighborhood,” says Kerri Goldsmith, president of Rotary Club of Fort Myers South.
