Natural Awakenings Naples and Fort Myers

Regular Meditation and Art Sessions at Happehatchee

Tara Mina

The Happehatchee Center, in Estero, is expanding its ongoing programming in both spiritual and artistic ways. Midday meditation classes will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesdays and 3 p.m. Thursdays, and en plein air painting and drawing will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Meditation can enhance self-awareness, reduce anxiety and stress, lengthen attention span and generate kindness and understanding of ourselves and others. Experiencing a relaxing moment in nature creates a connection with the Earth’s energy, called grounding or earthing, that frees electrons which help neutralize free radicals to reduce inflammation and likelihood of disease, along with reducing pain, improving sleep, increasing energy and more.

Under old oak trees and tall bamboo plants nestled along the Estero River, professional instruction is offered for drawing or painting the sacred landscape of Happehatchee and general nature drawing.

Fees: $10 for either event. Location: 8791 Corkscrew Rd. For more information including other classes and events, visit Happehatchee.org.
