Natural Awakenings Naples and Fort Myers

Brain Fair at Collier South Regional Library

Miracles Among Us, Inc., will present its fifth annual Brain Fair to increase awareness of brain injuries, including preventive measures and coping with such injuries from 1 to 5 p.m., March 23, at Collier County South Regional Library, in Naples. The free family educational fair will feature presentations by medical professionals such as Dr. Carol Roberts, of the Hughes Center for Functional Medicine, local agencies, informational vendors, a puppet show and the Naples Pilot Club providing free fitted bicycle helmets, as well as two bikes given away from Bikes for Tykes.

March is Brain Injury Awareness month. In Collier and Lee counties, there are more than 13,000 people with traumatic brain injury (TBI), many more have acquired brain injury (ABI). Often, in emergency room events, persons with multiple, life-threatening injuries are not properly diagnosed with a brain injury.

The nonprofit Miracles Among Us provides a monthly peer support group for survivors, family and caregivers, and participates in community events.
