Unity of Naples is hosting multiple award-winning actor Ed Asner in his one-man comedy stage-play, A Man and His Prostate, at 7 p.m., March 15 and 16. Asner will also participate in a live audience interactive talk-back at 2 p.m., March 16, at The Naples Players Blackburn Hall.

In this comical and poignant show created and written by award-winner Ed Weinberger, who wrote for Bob Hope, The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson, Taxi, and other comedy shows, is based on Weinberg’s true-life experience while on vacation in Italy, where he was rushed to a hospital for prostate cancer surgery.

According to Weinberger, Asner was born to play this role of an old codger who, preparing for surgery, won’t take any of life’s injustices sitting down. Asner is best known for his acclaimed role as Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
