SWFL Veg Fest Returns to Bonita Springs

A new lineup of expert speakers will mark the third annual SWFL Veg Fest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 24 at Riverside Park, in Bonita Springs. In addition, aPlantBasedDiet.org, the nonprofit host of the event, will launch a menu certification program to help people find the healthiest options for their dietary interests and needs.

New presenters will include Dr. Jim Loomis, medical director at the Barnard Medical Center, in Washington, D.C., and board member at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine; Wendie Pett, fitness and wellness coach; and James Aspey, an animal rights activist from Australia. Topics will include food’s relationship with the environment, farm versus “pharma”, and health and happiness.

Attendees will learn about many healthy and delicious plant-based, vegan diets from many vendors. Cooking demonstrations and food samples will also be available.
