Ronald M. Repice, DC

Ronald M. Repice, DC, owner of Rejuvenations COOL Cryo Spa, in Naples, had a bit of a head start on his chosen field of medicine by virtue of his father. “I was inspired to choose the field of natural medicine by my dad, a retired medical doctor, whose career as a family physician was in full swing during the 1960s. In the heyday of practicing general medicine, he delivered 200 children and worked in the emergency room. Today, doctors generally become specialists,” says Repice.

Repice’s head start appears to include an insatiable inclination to seek out cutting-edge therapies for his comprehensive wellness clinic. In addition to chiropractic care, he offers counseling from a functional medicine perspective on nutrition, supplementation and weight loss and weight management. Repice’s weight programs include body sculpting fat reduction options such as Lipo-Light and Cavi-Lipo systems, which utilize natural light therapy, as well as ultrasound cavitation. In addition, the clinic is the first in Southwest Florida to specialize in whole body cryotherapy (WBC), which offers next-generation rapid recovery and anti-inflammatory benefits utilizing extreme cold air technology.

“Developed in Japan in 1978 to treat rheumatoid arthritis, an inflammatory, autoimmune disease of the joints, the walk-in cryo spa chamber, cooled by nitrogen mist, lowers an individual’s skin surface temperature by 30 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit over a period of two to three minutes. The body, which is in contact with the nitrogen vapor, responds to the rapid lowering in external body temperature by kicking in the ‘fight-or-flight’ response, which releases adrenalin and endorphins, as well as cytokines, which are anti-inflammatory proteins.

Cryoness Spa“I’m always on the lookout for natural remedies that help people feel and look better. I’m investigating a hyperbaric oxygen chamber because I want targeted treatment therapies that work synergistically with those that I already have. Multifaceted treatment means that we can address numerous health challenges all at the same time. Unlike medications, which generally have many side effects, WBC has positive secondary side effects such as more energy, better sleep, softer/tighter skin and improved mood. In addition, it burns 500 to 800 calories,” says Repice.

Repice cites LeBron James, of the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team, and Peyton Manning, of the Denver Broncos football team, as continuing to spark his curiosity for finding new therapies and technologies. He discovered they were using whole body cryotherapy, rather than prescription drugs, to enhance their performance and deal with their physical injuries. “Even martial artists are using this to recover from the fatigue and soreness in their muscles so that they can train with the same intensity twice a day. Cryotherapy is perfect for my patients with joint replacement, arthritis and fibromyalgia,” says Repice.

Delighted with any opportunity educate patients and the general public, Repice notes that his enthusiasm for natural medicine has never waned. “Even as an M.D., my father was always interested in nutrition and the natural solutions that he could offer his patients.” In his retirement, he still remains engaged. The two collaborate weekly on their radio show, Rejuvenations Health Radio, on Blog Talk Radio every Tuesday from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m. Repice also partners with Euro Spa of Naples, a medical spa within Rejuvenations COOL Cryo Spa Center.

As a husband and father of one daughter age 9 and son age 11, Repice devotes whatever remaining time he has after his personal and work life to offering his chiropractic services in local nursing home and retirement communities.
