American Heart Association National Healthy Eating Day

The American Heart Association (AHA) Southwest Florida Division will observe National Healthy Eating Day on November 4, for individuals, organizations and companies throughout Lee and Collier counties to eat healthy, get active and kick off a healthy lifestyle. With its National Healthy Eating Day Toolkit (Tinyurl.com/HealthyEatingToolkit), AHA provides the resources to raise awareness about the importance of good nutrition and the tools to help participants change their lives.

As part of the AHA program and in recognition of Vegetarian Awareness Month, Lee Memorial Health System’s second annual Vegetarian Chef Cook Off will promote plant-based selections using a variety of whole foods with a traveling team of chefs competing against other hospital chefs in separate taste tests from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., October 19, at Lee Memorial, October 20 at Gulf Coast Medical Center Health Park Medical Center, October 21 at Health Park Medical Center Cape Coral Center and October 22 at Cape Coral Hospital Gulf Coast.

The top two chefs will compete at 1 p.m., November 4, for the Chef Challenge title in the Atrium of Health Park Regional Medical Center, in Fort Myers.
