The significant themes of collaboration and cooperation in today’s business world make the merger of Suzanne Blaney’s Health & Harmony Center and Cindy Carfore’s AHA! A Holistic Approach Center for Health & Wellness a natural next step in a whole-systems healing concept of wellness for Southwest Floridians. Blaney, who purchased the Fort Myers Health & Harmony Center in 2007, handed down to Carfore a legacy begun in 1990 by yoga teacher and massage therapist Kandy Love.
“I intend to carry on the same tradition of excellence that Kandy maintained for the 25 years that she has been teaching yoga and practicing massage here. Any business that has endured and flourished through all the changes in Western medicine—from holistic to alternative, complementary, integrative and now lifestyle medicine that recognizes massage and yoga as tools for improving health—and which has endured the ups and downs of the economy for 25 years is worth investing in. I consider it an honor that Kandy will continue to teach in our new location in the historic Iona Schoolhouse Professional complex, just three doors down from Kandy’s original location in the actual schoolhouse,” says Carfore.
The center provides education, resources and complementary health services. Multiple styles of massage therapy—deep tissue work, reflexology, trigger point therapy, hot stone massage, manual lymphatic drainage and CranioSacral therapy—enhance joint and muscle function, improve circulation and body tone and relieve mental and physical fatigue, as well as reducing pain and stress.
