Natural Awakenings Naples and Fort Myers

Kudos July 2013

Thirty businesses and entities are currently participating in a free program through the city of Naples’ Natural Resource Division, developed and implemented by sustainability and environmental consulting firm TwentyFifty, LLC. All underwent a Business Energy Evaluation with Florida Power and Light to identify how to save energy and cut costs, along with conducting recycling, water conservation and other sustainable efforts.

At the completion of the first phase last summer, an evaluation of energy-saving actions offered payback periods of one year or less—a retrofit that would pay for itself in savings in less than one year. Along with saving money for businesses and helping the environment, goals of the program include netting at least $20,000 in electric savings and reducing emissions of heat-trapping greenhouse gases by 200 metric tons.

The following have been awarded as Naples Certified Green Businesses:

Andrew Hill Investments, Arsenault Gallery, Bayfront Inn, Best Western Inn and Suites, Big Momma’s Bicycles, Chez Boet, Chelsea’s Resale Shoppe, Driftwood Garden Center, Camilla Eastern European Foods Market, Fiddler Films, Goodwill Bookstore, Hampton Inn, Harmon-Meek Gallery, Jerry’s Cleaners, Le Ciel Venetian Tower, Le Jardin Condo Association, Moorings Park, Naples Dog Center, Naples Players/Sugden Community Theater, Natural Awakenings, Olde Naples Self Storage, Ooh La La Jewels Du Jour, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sunshine Ace Hardware, The Contessa, The Seasons at Naples Bay, U-topia Spa, Willowood Kitchen and Bath, Wynn’s Catering and Wynn’s Market.
