Patricia Acerra, a nationally certified licensed acupuncturist based in Naples, has completed a 500-hour course of study at the Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy, in Tampa, and will add the modality to her practice. She is certified with both the American Counsel of Hypnotist Examiners and the International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists in clinical, medical and transpersonal hypnotherapy.

“I am convinced through my past 12 years of acupuncture practice that more often than not, dysfunctions of the body originate in the mind and spirit,” she says. “I want to be able to help my patients reach optimum health and higher levels of consciousness.”

The Tampa school, which is the only state-licensed hypnotherapy school in Florida, will open a branch in Naples in January 2013, where Acerra will serve as a clinical supervisor to students.
