Conference Addresses Adults with Autism

Of the 1.5 million people in the U.S. that have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum, approximately 80 percent are younger than 22. An upcoming conference, Creating a Future for Adults with Autism, will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., September 15, at St. John’s The Evangelist Church, in Naples, to explore the special needs and concerns of these individuals. The event is sponsored by the nonprofit organization “Kneads”, A Fresh Vision for Special Education.

Conference coordinator Debby Lasek says, “In our area, the need for long-term living and support for adults with autism far exceeds the available resources. This conference will help us learn how we can make a change.”

Location: 625 111th Ave. N. For more information, call Lasek at 239-450-6060 or email [email protected].
