Collin Davis, a senior at Cypress Lake Fort Myers High School Center for the Arts, was recently named the 2012 Bruce T. Gora Photography Scholarship recipient. He is one of 68 local students that collectively will receive more than $230,000 in competitive scholarships from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.

The scholarship was created in 2010 to honor the late photographer, architect, musician and Alliance for the Arts board member Bruce Gora, well known for his dedication to the arts and volunteerism.

Davis, also a Florida Bright Futures Medallion Scholarship winner, is already attending Edison State College on a dual-enrollment basis. He plans to finish his Associate of Arts degree and then attend the Savannah College of Art Design.
