Natural Awakenings Naples and Fort Myers

Kudos

The Lee County Conservation 20/20 Program recently purchased five acres in the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW), northeast of the intersection of East Terry Street and Radio Tower Road, in Lee County, as part of its mission to acquire environmentally important lands for preservation purposes. The CREW is a 60,000-acre area of interconnected swamps spanning Lee and Collier counties that provides aquifer recharge, natural flood protection and water purification, in addition to habitat areas for such wildlife as the Florida panther and black bear.
