The Multicultural Centre of Southwest Florida raised more than $6,000 at its second annual Brunch for Backpacks event at The Edison Restaurant on June 19, in Fort Myers, providing more than 550 Lee County elementary students with new backpacks and other school supplies.

Special guests at the fundraiser included city of Fort Myers Mayor Randy Henderson, Dr. Constance Jones, Nanci McGovern, Sharon Merchant, Miguel Fernandez, Tom Scott and Miss-A-Miracle (mascot of the Fort Myers Miracle baseball team). Event sponsors included Woman’s Life, GoldHelps.org and The Edison Restaurant.

Cindy Highsmith Myron, LMT, CBP, a massage therapist and Reiki master at Health & Harmony Center, in Fort Myers, has obtained BodyTalk certification from instructor Jeanne Ellis in Delray Beach.
